Have you ever wanted to star in a play you helped create? Join us this summer, as students learn all about theatre by doing it themselves! Children are guided, by the instructors, through a process where they play theatre games, create a story, and work together to make that story into a working theatrical production. The participants create their own character, plot, props, costumes, title, and everything else that's needed to make the production complete. You get to play the part you have always dreamed of!
Alice in Wonderland Camp
June 15th to 19th
9-3PM daily (performance on Friday at 2PM)
Join us this summer as we travel down the rabbit hole with Alice! A collaborative work of absurd theatre, our version of "Alice in Wonderland" is
based loosely on the Lewis Carroll stories. Alice finds herself falling down the rabbit hole, and from there tries desperately to get back home. In our production we have multiple Alices (because it is wonderland Alice changes shape constantly), plenty of mad tea party guests (the Hatter, the Hare, Dormouse, etc), and of course her royal highness the Queen of Hearts. The staging is completely done in the style of absurd theatre. We follow an outline version of the books...this is not based on the movie. But like the Creative Theatre programs, the students add their own voice to this piece. The thing to remember is that everyone in wonderland is quite mad, and quite funny!
