Online Coding Classes

The City of Chamblee has partnered with Create and Learn to offer a variety of online coding classes! These classes are geared towards kids in 2nd through 5th grade and are offered at various times throughout the week. Classes are all online and are kept to a 5:1 ratio per class, so your child is sure to get the personalized instruction they need and deserve! Here are the classes being offered:




  • Scratch- This class uses Scratch, a coding platform developed by MIT, as a tool to teach core computer science and coding concepts such as loop, conditional, motion, and sensing. Students will also work on a project in each session ranging from animation, games, to graphic design and storytelling, etc. The class employs a variety of interesting topics to teach logical thinking and inspire creativity, so your kids are not only learning but also creating starting from day. Kids will be challenged to be creative and solve tough problems while learning the deeper computer science concepts.


  • Junior Robotics - This first unit will introduce students to the basics of VEX Code and programming in 3-D. Students will learn how to navigate robots through virtual worlds and complete exciting maze challenges! In the second unit, students will practice navigating robots through even more complicated virtual worlds full of obstacles by making use of sensors. Moreover, students will learn how to make robots transport objects and see how these topics are important in real-world scenarios! For Grades 2-3
